Chico joined the Cougars in the 2008/2009 season as Athletic Trainer. A University of Saskatchewan graduate with a degree in Kinesiology and Psychology, Chico has spent the past six years working as a Trainer and Equipment Manager. He began his career with the Humboldt Broncos, joining them as they won two league championships and a National championship. He also held the position of Equipment Manager for the Women’s U18 and U22 National teams, the latter as the team brought home two European Air Canada Cups. Chico is in his second year with the Cougars- working with players to ensure that they are in peak physical condition for their games; this includes working with team doctors to help provide physical therapy, showing the athletes how to build muscle and avoid further injury, providing players with specific diets and exercises and maintaining team equipment and supplies. Chico is a big fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and enjoys playing golf, basketball and volleyball.
