Cougar Players Back From Pro Camps
Jonathan Filewich, stand-out forward for the Prince George Cougars, comes back to the hockey club today and will be ready to practice Thursday. He finished his training camp experience with the Pittsburgh Penguins just in time for the regular season to begin. “It is very exciting to have ‘Filly’ in the line-up this weekend. He is a very big part of this hockey club and we look forward to working with him on being an excellent player for this organization. He is an important part of our line-up,” states Cougars Assistant GM Dallas Thompson.
Also, Cougar defenceman Tyrell Moulton, will be leaving the Dallas Stars camp Friday and will be expected to join the Cougars in Vancouver Saturday to help take on the Giants. The Cougars are proud of Tyrell’s accomplishments and are excited for his development this upcoming season.
The return of Filewich and Moulton helps add some depth to the Cougars roster and will create even more energy on the ice for Cougar fans. Still to be determined is the fate of goaltender Todd Ford, who is at the Toronto Maple Leafs camp. Ford is showing many positives in camp, but the Cougars are projecting a Saturday return for the Calgary, Alberta native.
Make sure not to miss all the excitement that is set to take place Opening Night on September 19. It is almost time to “Get Rowdy”, so come out and help cheer on the Prince George Cougars as they head into battle against the Kootenay Ice. Tickets to Friday’s game are on sale now at Ticketmaster.
