News 2008-09Jun 22 2009Cougars Announce Adopt-a-School ProgramPress and Information Release PRINCE GEORGE, BC – Although elementary students in School District 57 are probably eager to begin summer vacation this week, they now have an extra incentive to return in the fall. Thanks to generous sponsor support, Prince George elementary students will have the opportunity to earn tickets to Prince George Cougars games. The Cougars will launch the Adopt-a-School program in September 2009. Denny’s, Ken Laursen of Royal LePage, IRL Supplies and Tim Horton’s have already signed on for the 2009/2010 season to reward local students for improving their schools and themselves. Academic and athletic achievement, acts of kindness and artistic excellence are among the qualities that could translate into tickets earned. “We recognize that this season especially, in addition to promoting their brands and connecting with Cougar fans, our sponsors want their investments to provide tangible benefits to the community,” said Cougars Vice President Brandi Brodsky. “Taking that into consideration, supporting local elementary schools through Adopt-a-School, Breakaway for Books and our Anti-bullying Program will be a priority in the upcoming season and you can expect to see the bulk of our player appearances in 2009/2010 aligned accordingly.” Any local elementary school is eligible to be selected, provided that school is not already matched with a sponsor. The Cougars encourage any businesses interested in participating in Adopt-a-School or sponsoring the Anti-bullying Program to contact Amy Erickson or Andy Neal at the Cougars office at 250-561-0783. __________ For more information please contact Amy Erickson at 250-561-0783 |
