The winner of the Prince George Cougars 50/50 Society 2009 Academic/Athletic Scholarship, Legault plans to attain a Bachelor of Science degree, followed by a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. The $1000 scholarship is funded by proceeds from 50/50 tickets, sold at Prince George Cougars games, and is awarded to a Prince George student who demonstrates academic excellence and achievement in athletics. “I’ll be going to school for about 8 years so this is going to be an amazing help,” said Legault on Monday. “Carly excels in both athletics and academics, which is what we look for when awarding this scholarship,” said Cougars Vice President, Brandi Brodsky. “She has a strong background in ringette and soccer, representing BC in both sports. As a volunteer, she contributes to several local non-profits, and is an active participant in extra-curricular activities within her school. We are very proud to support Carly in her educational goals.” Legault will attend the University of Northern BC, beginning in September 2009. __________ For more information please contact Amy Erickson at 250-561-0783 |
