Prince George Cougars Thank SupportersNews 2008-09Mar 27 2009Prince George Cougars Thank SupportersPress and Information Release PRINCE GEORGE, BC - With the 2008-09 Prince George Cougars season in the books, the Cougars would like to take this opportunity to extend our most heartfelt thank you to everyone who was a part of this past Western Hockey League season. Many thanks to the valuable volunteers and game night staff who chose to spend countless hours assisting with game night operations, especially Cougars Guest Services staff; their dedication helped make game nights safe and enjoyable for our fans. We appreciate the creativity and flexibility of the Cougars Interns, whose behind-the-scenes efforts with the promotional aspect of Cougar game nights contributed to our successes. We wish them the best of luck as they move forward in their careers and educational endeavors. We want to recognize the commitment and tenacity of our sponsors over the years. Their financial and in-kind contributions, and support for our community programs and initiatives, are a huge reason why the Prince George Cougars and the community of Prince George have such a dynamic relationship. We look forward to continuing these partnerships during the 2009/2010 season, in what should be an exciting year for the up and coming Cougars. A big thank-you also goes to the City of Prince George and all the hard-working employees of CN Centre who helped make the Cougars home a comfortable and spotless venue to watch a hockey game. The Cougars also acknowledge the dedicated and professional media in Prince George, from print to radio and television, who joined us at games, press conferences, and community events throughout the season. To the voice of the Cougars, Ron St. Clair, great job once again providing our fans with entertaining play-by-play of all Cougars games, both at home and on the road. Lastly, the Cougars salute our fans. Their support touched the Cougars organization and the team in so many ways. This past season, the Cougars had close to 100, 000 fans come through the doors at CN Centre. They proved, once again, that Cougar fans are among the loudest in the Western Hockey League. Without them, especially our season ticket holders, the WHL would not have a home in Prince George. The Prince George Cougars are a team on the move, with a plethora of young talent, including the cornerstone of the team- a home-grown product in Brett Connolly. The experiences gained this season, which included improving the club’s home record by eight victories and a trip to the playoffs, will only make the team stronger moving forward. The Cougars are looking forward to an off-season of retooling and putting together an exciting team for the upcoming year. Thanks again, and we’ll see you in the fall at CN Centre. __________ For more information please contact Andy Neal or Amy Erickson at 250-561-0783 |
