Salmon Joins CougarsNews 2008-09Mar 12 2009Salmon Joins CougarsPrince George, BC – The Prince George Cougars have added 16-year old goaltender Michael Salmon to the team’s roster. Salmon, a listed player with the Cougars in 2007, played this past season with the Red Deer Optimist Rebels of the Alberta AAA Midget Hockey League, where he played in 25 games, posting a 9-11-1 record. Salmon had a goals against average of 3.56 and a save percentage of 88.1. The highlight of Salmon’s season came at the Mac’s AAA Midget hockey tournament in Calgary, where Salmon earned the top goalie award for the event, winning 3 of 4 games, with a 2.75 GAA and an 89.3 save percentage. Salmon also stood tall in the AMHA first round playoffs, leading the Rebels to a victory over the UFA Bisons, before falling in the second round to the Lethbridge Y's Men Titans, the top team overall this season. Salmon will join the Cougars Thursday afternoon in Chilliwack. |
