PRINCE GEORGE, BC- The Prince George Cougars invite fans to join us for Opening Night on Friday, September 19th. Rowdy Cat and In-stand Host, Jonathon Dyck will kick-off opening night with the annual tailgate party in the CN Centre parking lot. The family event will take place between 5 and 7pm prior to the first game of the season against Seattle.  

Save On Foods will be selling hot dogs and pop with proceeds to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of Prince George. The event will also feature the band Andy and Dave, entertainment by the Shriners Clowns and prizes form the Drive Girls at 99.3. The Two Rivers Gallery Creation Station will offer children the chance to create their own Cougars Cheering Stix, while Big Brothers Big Sisters have teamed up with Splash Media to offer face-painting. Canadian Blood Services, Spirit of the North, Northern Health and the Canadian Cancer Society will also be on hand with prizes and games for kids.

That evening fans also have the chance to bid on the “Jerseys off their Backs” as the Prince George Cougars make their 2008/2009 debut in special promo jerseys. A silent auction will take place during the game, followed by a live auction on the concourse where Cougars players will sign and present their jerseys to the fans with the winning bids.  All proceeds will go to the Spirit of the North Foundation.

Throughout the game Season Ticket Holders will have the chance to win some fantastic prizes from sponsors including the Ramada, Earls, Canadian Tire, Grower Direct, Coast Inn of the North, Canadian Blood Services and the Cougars. One lucky fan will take home a grand prize of a night in the Cougars’ suite for 11 people.
