Cougars Season Goals Helping Those in NeedFeature Stories 2003-04Apr 21 2004Cougars Season Goals Helping Those in Need
To the average eye, a Cougar goal during this past season meant only one thing…Whether is was to increase their lead on an opponent, or to claw back from a deficit, a goal seemed to be simply just a goal. However; what might surprise many was that for every Jonathan Filewich, Chris Falloon, or other Cougar recorded goal scored this season, $9.93 (representing 99.3 The Drive) would eventually be donated to a very special cause. On behalf of the Cougars, CKPG, and the many sponsors of play-by-play hockey, a total of $2125.02 (214 goals; 61 1st period, 79 2nd period, 71 3rd period, 1 OT) was raised to help benefit “Friends of Children”, an organization that is committed to helping children with their medical needs. On April 21, Cougars Business Manager Brandi Brodsky, CKPG General Manager Ken Kilcullen, and General Sales Manager Gord Wilkinson, were all on hand to present a cheque in the amount of $2125.02 to representatives of “Friends of Children”. >Print^Top |
