2007 1’st round pick Brett Connolly and Nicolas Buonassisi have been short listed by Team Pacific for the upcoming 2009 World Under-17 Challenge. The Tournament in Port Alberni, B.C. will run from December 29th to January 4th 2009. Both Connolly and Buonassisi competed in the BC Major Midget league during the 2007-2008 season. Connolly tallied 16 goals and 16 assists for the Cariboo Cougars, while Buonassisi chipped in 24 goals and 24 assists for the Vancouver N.E. Chiefs. Both players are expected to be key contributors for the Cougars this season. The World Under-17 Challenge combines eleven BC Hockey High Performance Players with 11 players from Alberta to form Team Pacific. During the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge, Team Pacific will compete against four other Canadian teams (Western, Ontario, Quebec and Atlantic) as well as five international teams. Team Pacific has earned silver in 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2005. >Print^Top |
