Where are they now- Tyler BouckFeature StoriesJul 24 2008Where are they now- Tyler Bouck
In the 1995 WHL Bantam Draft, the Prince George Cougars took Tyler Bouck 2nd overall. With that, a love affair between a city and a player began. It’s one that still holds true today. Bouck, a 6’0” 196 pound winger from Camrose Alberta played 197 games for the Cougars between 1995 and 2000. Over that time he would compile 65 goals and 87 assists for a total of 152 points. He also racked up 466 penalty minutes in his Cougar career. Those numbers impressed the Dallas Stars enough to select Tyler in the 2nd round, 57th overall in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft. Tyler would make his NHL debut with the Stars during the 2000-2001 season. He played in 48 games that year, picking up 2 goals and 5 assists. That summer he was dealt to the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for Jyrki Lumme. His stay in the desert would last just 7 games as Tyler was dealt for the second time in six months. The Coyotes packaged Bouck along with Todd Warriner, Trevor Letowski, and a 3rd round pick to Vancouver in exchange for Drake Berehowsky and Denis Pederson. Bouck never really found a home in Vancouver as he bounced back and forth between the Canucks and the Manitoba Moose. In six seasons within the Vancouver organization, Bouck would appear in 36 games with the big club. The defending Stanley Cup champion Anaheim Ducks offered Tyler a tryout this past fall and he was eventually re-assigned to their affiliate in Portland, Maine. In his first season with the Pirates he collected 11 goals and 17 assists. >Print^Top |
