Wishart Selected 16th OverallFeature Stories 2005-06Jun 27 2006Wishart Selected 16th OverallWishart, who was the 2nd defenseman selected in the Entry Draft, ended his 2005/06 campaign with 5 goals, 32 assists, for 37 points in 70 games played for the Cougars. Last week, the Comox native was been selected to attend Canada’s National Junior Team Development Camp from July 23-28, 2006 in Calgary, AB. “We are extremely happy for Ty. His hard work, determination, and character will make him an excellent addition to the San Jose Sharks organization” states Cougars General Manager, Dallas Thompson. Other Cougars selected in Saturday’s 2006 NHL Entry Draft were defenseman Jesse Dudas, and forwards Eric Hunter and Evan Fuller. Dudas, a 6’1”, 214 lbs. product of St. Albert, AB, was selected in the 6th round, 159th overall, by the Columbus Blue Jackets. Hunter, who finished his 05/06 Cougars season with 72 points in 71 games, was picked up in the 6th round by the New York Rangers. The Cougars 05/06 team MVP was selected 174th overall. Finally, Williams Lake native Evan Fuller was snatched up by the Vancouver Canucks in the 7th and final round of the 2006 NHL Draft. Fuller, who registered 2 goals and 5 assists last season with the ‘Cats, was picked 197th overall. “Having four of our players selected in the 2006 Entry Draft is a great honour.
